Clutch Case (CS2): Contents, the 24 Gloves, Odds and Drop Status

The Clutch Case is the original home of the 24-glove set that the Revolution Case later reused. It holds 17 weapon finishes, led by the M4A4 | Neo-Noir and MP7 | Bloodsport, and on 10 October 2026 it cost $0.63 on the Steam Market, about three times a Revolution Case for exactly the same gloves.

Read this if you are pricing a Clutch skin, deciding between the two glove cases, or checking whether it still drops. It is a reference, not an invitation to open: as the second chart shows, chasing one glove through Clutch Cases costs about $1,200 on average, and the cheapest glove behind its gold door lists for under $30.

A note on the date. Some databases say December 2017. That is the item-schema "first sale" field, which predates release; Valve's update shipping the case is from February 2018, and we could not retrieve the post to confirm the day, so we give the month only.

Contents by rarity

The table lists all 17 weapon finishes with the float range each can roll and the spread of Skinport's lowest non-StatTrak listings across their available wears, read on 10 October 2026. The Classified tier is stronger than the case price suggests: the AWP | Mortis, AUG | Stymphalian and USP-S | Cortex all list for a few dollars in worn condition and more in Factory New.

Most Mil-Spec items here list between 8 and 20 cents in worn condition, and every Restricted item lists under a dollar in Field-Tested and below. Those two tiers make up more than nine in ten openings under the disclosed rates, which is why the average opening returns far less than the cost of the case and key together.

The 24 gloves, and why the Revolution Case shares them

When Valve released the Revolution Case in February 2023, its announcement named the Clutch Case gloves as the new box's "rare special items". So the Clutch pool is the reference set: Driver Gloves, Hand Wraps, Hydra Gloves, Moto Gloves, Specialist Gloves and Sport Gloves, four finishes each, every pair limited to floats between 0.06 and 0.80.

Bar chart of the cheapest Skinport listing per glove family in the Clutch pool on 10 Oct 2026: Hydra $26.98, Driver $30.35, Moto $36.26, Hand Wraps $40.14, Specialist $42.02, Sport $67.10.

The family that matters most to buyers is the Sport Gloves, home of the Vice finish. On the day we checked, a Battle-Scarred Vice listed at $230.64, Field-Tested at $402.86, Minimal Wear at $1,321.65 and a single Factory New pair at $6,129.82. The same gloves can come from either case, so a Vice from a Clutch Case is not rarer or more valuable than one from Revolution.

If gloves are what you want, the honest comparison is the price of the pair against the price of reaching it. Marketplaces such as SkinBaron and DMarket list gloves with their float shown, which is the only way to know what you are paying for.

Odds and expected cost per glove

Valve does not print case odds in English. The five rates used everywhere, 79.92%, 15.98%, 3.20%, 0.64% and 0.26% from Mil-Spec up to the rare special item, come from the disclosure Valve made for the Chinese version of the game in 2017. Applied to the Clutch Case, they mean one glove per roughly 385 openings on average.

Bar chart: average spend per glove is about $1,200 from Clutch Cases and about $1,040 from Revolution Cases, for the same 24-glove pool, using 10 Oct 2026 Steam prices and a reported $2.49 key.
Same glove odds, different case prices. Steam lowest listings 10 Oct 2026; key price as players report it, not re-verified.

At $0.63 for the case plus the US$2.49 key players report, each Clutch opening costs about $3.12, so the average bill for one glove comes to about $1,200. The Revolution Case reaches the identical pool for about $1,040. Neither figure is a forecast of what one person will spend; it is the long-run average, and the glove you land is random.

Clutch or Revolution: what actually differs

Because the gold door is identical, the two cases differ only in their weapon finishes, their price and their supply. The table puts them side by side with the numbers we read on 10 October 2026.

#7Tracker drop statusNot in active poolActive weekly drop

The volume line is the tell. Revolution traded more than thirteen times as many units in a day, the pattern of a case still being handed out every week. Clutch's higher price is consistent with a container that is no longer being topped up, not with better contents. If you only care about the gloves, the cheaper box reaches them for less; if you collect containers, the older one is the scarcer object.

Is the Clutch Case still dropping?

Not as an active weekly drop, according to both community trackers we checked on 10 October 2026. Skinbase lists it outside its weekly rotation, and SteamDB.com's drop-pool page places it in the "rare pool". Valve publishes neither list, so treat both as informed tracking, not official status.

The rare pool itself is disputed. Community trackers reported in December 2025 that the rare drop pool for older cases had been emptied; Valve's notes for that week mention no such change, and SteamDB.com still describes a rare pool. Either way, a Clutch Case today mostly comes from players selling ones they already have, which is part of why it costs three times a Revolution.

Edge cases

Three things trip people up with this case. Gloves cannot be StatTrak, so there is no StatTrak glove to chase here, only StatTrak weapon finishes. The Steam Market caps any single listing at $1,800, so the priciest Factory New gloves from this pool trade on other marketplaces. And since Valve's October 2025 change, five Clutch Coverts can be traded up into one glove from this collection; with the cheapest Covert at $24.21 that contract starts around $121, which is still several times the $26.98 glove floor.

For the full side-by-side of every current container, see the CS2 case catalogue; for why older cases climb once they stop dropping, see rarest CS2 cases.

Frequently asked questions

What gloves are in the Clutch Case?

Twenty-four gloves across six families: Driver Gloves, Hand Wraps, Hydra Gloves, Moto Gloves, Specialist Gloves and Sport Gloves. The Sport Gloves | Vice is the best known. The Revolution Case uses the same set.

Is the Clutch Case still dropping?

Not in the active weekly pool according to Skinbase and SteamDB.com, both checked 10 October 2026. Valve does not publish the pool, so this is tracker data rather than an official statement.

How much is a Clutch Case worth?

$0.63 lowest listing and $0.64 median on 10 October 2026, with 6,686 sold on the Steam Market in the previous 24 hours. Opening one also needs a key.

Does the Clutch Case have knives?

No. Its rare special items are gloves only. For knives, look at cases such as Fracture or Dreams & Nightmares.

What are the odds of gloves from the Clutch Case?

0.26% per opening, about one in 385, under the rates Valve disclosed for China in 2017. That works out to roughly $1,200 of cases and keys per glove on average at 10 October 2026 prices.
