Snakebite Case (CS2): Contents, Broken Fang Gloves, Odds and Price

The Snakebite Case is a 2021 glove case: 17 community weapon finishes, topped by the USP-S | The Traitor and M4A4 | In Living Color, with the 24-glove Broken Fang set as its rare special items. On 10 October 2026 it cost $0.49 on the Steam Market, and 10,737 changed hands in the 24 hours before we checked.
Most pages about this case only list prices. This one explains it: what is inside with dated prices, where its gloves come from, what the odds mean in money, and why the box itself is so cheap. It documents the case and does not recommend opening one.

Contents by rarity
All 17 finishes, with each skin's float range and the spread of Skinport's lowest non-StatTrak listings across its wears on 10 October 2026. One oddity stands out: the AK-47 | Slate is only a Restricted skin, yet in most wears it lists for more than the three Classified items above it, because an AK finish carries its own demand.

The Broken Fang glove set
Valve's 2021 announcement lists the Broken Fang gloves as the Snakebite Case's "rare special items". The set first appeared on 3 December 2020, in the Operation Broken Fang Case, and returned again in the Recoil Case on 1 July 2022. It has six families with four finishes each: Broken Fang Gloves, Driver Gloves, Hand Wraps, Moto Gloves, Specialist Gloves and Sport Gloves.
Because three cases share the pool, a glove from the set says nothing about which box it came from. The best known is the Driver Gloves | Snow Leopard, which listed on Skinport from $216.45 Battle-Scarred to $582.93 Minimal Wear on 10 October 2026, with no Factory New copy listed that day.
Our recommendation is the same for every glove: if you want a pair, pick the family, wear and float you like and buy that exact item. SkinBaron and DMarket list gloves with float values shown.
Odds and expected cost
The rare special item rate assumed for every standard case is 0.26%, per the tier odds disclosed for the Chinese release of the game in 2017; Covert sits at 0.64% and Classified at 3.20%. With the Snakebite Case at $0.49 and a key at the US$2.49 players report, one opening costs about $2.98, which puts the long-run average at roughly $1,150 per pair of gloves.
Set that against the floor chart. Every family's cheapest pair lists below $115, and four of the six are under $50. Even the expensive end of the pool, a Factory New Sport Gloves | Nocts at $3,123.64, is a single listing rather than a market price. The odds do not make the case a bad product to own; they make it an expensive way to buy gloves.
Three boxes, one glove set
Because the Broken Fang set sits behind three different cases, the price of the box decides what the same 0.26% chance costs you. These are the Steam lowest listings and 24-hour sales we read on 10 October 2026, with the average spend per glove worked out the same way for each.
| # | Case | Released | Steam lowest | Sold, prior 24 h | Avg. spend per glove |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | Operation Broken Fang Case | 3 Dec 2020 | $7.10 | 888 | ≈ $3,690 |
| #2 | Snakebite Case | 3 May 2021 | $0.49 | 10,737 | ≈ $1,150 |
| #3 | Recoil Case | 1 Jul 2022 | $0.29 | 24,468 | ≈ $1,070 |
The gloves are identical across all three rows; only the container changes. The original Broken Fang box is the collectible, trading at more than fourteen times a Snakebite with a fraction of the volume, while Snakebite and Recoil are the commodity versions. Spend per glove assumes the US$2.49 key price players report and the 0.26% rate, so read it as an average across many openings, not a prediction for yours.
Why the case is so cheap
The simplest answer is supply. Snakebite Cases have been dropping and trading since May 2021, and buyers can see that over ten thousand moved on Steam in a single day. A container with that much stock and steady selling has no scarcity to price in, so it sits near the bottom of the Market alongside other high-volume cases.
Its gloves also cap demand for the box. The same Broken Fang set is reachable from the Recoil Case, which listed at $0.29 on the same day, so anyone set on the gloves has a cheaper route already. Cases tend to rise only after their supply is frozen; see retired CS2 cases for the ones where that has happened.
Edge cases
Neither tracker we checked lists Snakebite in the active weekly pool: Skinbase leaves it out, and SteamDB.com files it under the rare pool, which community trackers say Valve emptied in December 2025 without announcing it. Valve confirms neither. Separately, since 22 October 2025 five Snakebite Coverts can be traded up for one glove from this collection; the cheapest Covert, a Battle-Scarred In Living Color, listed at $25.73, so the cheapest contract starts near $129, several times the $36.80 glove floor.

Frequently asked questions
What gloves can you get from the Snakebite Case?
The 24-glove Broken Fang set: Broken Fang Gloves, Driver Gloves, Hand Wraps, Moto Gloves, Specialist Gloves and Sport Gloves, four finishes each, including the Driver Gloves | Snow Leopard.
Is the Snakebite Case worth opening?
Not as a way to get value. At 10 October 2026 prices the average spend per glove is about $1,150, while the cheapest glove in the pool lists for $36.80. Buying the item you want directly costs far less.
How much is a Snakebite Case?
$0.49 lowest listing and $0.48 median on 10 October 2026, with 10,737 sold on the Steam Market in the previous 24 hours.
When was the Snakebite Case released?
3 May 2021, per Valve's announcement. Some databases show March 2021, which is an item-schema date, not the release.
Does the Snakebite Case share gloves with other cases?
Yes. The Operation Broken Fang Case introduced the set in December 2020, and the Recoil Case reused it in July 2022.
